Title & Search Engines
The Title of your page is identified with a container in the HEAD section
- The Title of your page is extremely important to identify the purpose of your page.
- The Title will not appear on the page, but rather in the title bar on the top of the browser.
- Use a few descriptive words to identify precisely the purpose of your page
- Do not rely on any tool to define your page title, such as new_page1 or anything generic.
- Search engines may use your title in identifying the content found in a search, and you want this to be descriptive.
- If keywords are also used in the title, some search site criteria will give your page a higher relevance ranking.
