Belle's favorites

Scholastic Place  - As a mom, I am very familiar with Scholastic Publishers, (which mom hasn't had the book order come home from school?), this site is well laid out, easy to use and a good resource.
Bigfoot Yellow Pages  - Searching for someone, or maybe just their email address? Bigfoot is a good resource for that. You can search for email, phone numbers, you can even link to Mapquest and see on a map where exactly they live. Kinda of scarry in many ways, but sooo useful.
La Boheme  - This little French restaurant serves wonderful meals, no two alike in any given month. Check out their recipe for Creme Brulee, its worth the calories.
Farside  - I went through a grieving process when Gary Larson decided to stop drawing his Farside comic strip. All during college, it was the one strip I read consistently. Well, old comic strips never die, they become digital.
UPS  - This pick represents my practical side. If you ever had to trace a package, you would appreciate how handy this site really is. It's saved me from tearing all my hair out, many a times.
C/Net Central  - An excellent site, a great jump off point to the rest of the web.
Microsoft-NBC  - For the news junkie, this is the site.
Jane Austen Info Page  - I have loved Jane Austen's work ever since I first read Pride and Prejudice in high school. After seeing A&E's production, I fell in love all over again.
A&E Television  - I enjoy watching A&E programing. If you do too, their site is a good way of checking on future programing. Right now Jane Austen's Emma is featured.

Randy's favorites

TUCOWS World Wide Affiliate Site Locations  - More free software than anyone can use.
Gamelan  - The Web's premier site for Java applets.
Discovery Channel School  - Expanding on a great TV channel for info targeted at educators, for use in the classroom.
Knowledge Network  - Pacific Bell's education initiative
US History  - Wm. Brinton's Abridged History of the USA
Nova Series  - PBS Online, fascinating science presentation
Welcome to O M N I  - EARTH.SPACE.SCIENCE.ART.FACT.FICTION.FANTASY - no longer a magazine, but the fascination is still alive as an ezine.
Public Broadcasting Service  - A network has figured out how to effectively use the net.
Microsoft Network  - Microsoft and ABC do a good job.
The Skeptics Society  - An entertaining and revealing look at junk science. One of my favorite rants, and the root of much dysfunction in the world today.
Bad Science  - Targeted to teachers who are searching to identify "science" that does not meet scientific criteria.
The Armchair Scientist - Science & Technology Magazine  - Science from your own armchair ... sharing your work with scientists everywhere ...
ScienceNOW  - Science, the global weekly of research, published by the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
The Lucifer Principle  - Howard Bloom's most useful multi-disciplinary Web tool box. A Scientific Exploration Into the Forces of History
Physics as presented by Richard Sears  - Good friend with a good site highlighting original work while providing insight into Agents to Zen.
