Aldape, Vincente and Powersource. "Mexico Online". Mexicool. (No date of revision given). http://www.mexicool.com/ (January 3, 1999).
The information was put together by a group of programmers located in Sugar Land, Texas calling themselves Powersource as well as with a Internet service provider also in Texas. Their sources are links to other online publications that have information on Mexico.
This information is online to inform people about the many aspects of Mexico and to help promote trade with Mexico. The site helps business people find business opportunities, through the Business Center with constant updates on the Mexican business economy. It promotes travel to Mexico through the Travel Center that will help you book flights to different parts of the country. There are several other links to encourage people to find more about the country.
The site has many links to other sites having to do with Mexico. There does not seem to be any biases on the authors part when they made the links because it seemed they wanted to make as many links available as they could. There are many different types of pages they link to including pages about business, news, art, travel, Internet services and online shops that sell things from Mexico.
The main audience for this site is anyone who wants to travel to Mexico, do business with Mexico or just want information about Mexico.
The Mexicool site was the best one I found among all the Mexico sites I visited. It was the most complete with best range of topics you can look at. It also had the most information for each subtopic and many links for additional information they might not have covered. The only thing that the site falls short on is its sometimes difficult to navigate through the many different pages.
The group that created the site seems fairly knowledgeable about Mexico and the Internet. They seem to be very good researchers of other sites on the Internet that have material that relate to this site. They use this information to expand their site and make it more useful.
Yes, the contact information is included on the site. On the homepage, Powersource is noted for contact, and on all other sites the "webmasters" URL is given and in some cases his e-mail address is given.
The Web site has more current information than most libraries. The site may also contain more information than some libraries may have available on Mexico. Libraries may have more in-depth information available, but with the Internet you get current information any time of the day.
