Frozen Water View, Albert Lea, MN - c1907

Sepia Toned Real Photo Postcard of a railroad bridge over a cascade of frozen water Albert Lea, MN which is also the county seat of Freeborn County. Albert Lea sits along the shores of Fountain Lake, Lake Chapeau and Lake Albert Lea. It is located on the southeast corner of Minnesota just about 90 miles from the Iowa border. The town was named after a U.S. Army Lt. Albert Lea who surveyed the area in 1835. Lea later on left the U.S. Army to join the Confederates during the Civil War.

Back of Albert Lea card

Card has a postmark of 1907 from Minn., but exact date and place have faded. It was addressed to a Mr. Edward C. Anderson of Selma Cal. Frisco Co.

Condition:
  • Good condition.
  • There is some silvering on the front of the card and a few small worn areas on the bottom of the card and on the left edge.
  • Corners show some minor dog-ears.
