Sepia-tone Real Photo Postcard showing the businesses in Dana, Iowa in 1911. The town in Greene County (30 miles from Ames and 50 miles from Des Moines) must not have been very large a hundred years ago, and is less than a hundred population today. Much of the town seems to be dressed up and standing on the sidewalk for this photo. The building with the awning has a sign that is something like "D. A. Swayson and Co." Several horse hitching posts are seen in the dirt street in the inset below.

Condition:
  • Very good condition, with some age yellowing
  • One quarter inch spot in the trees near the top center that looks like a rust spot in the emulsion
  • Crack/bend about 1 inch long on bottom left
  • Corners show softness and bumping with chips from bottom corners as seen in card image below
