RPPC Street Scene, Elm Place, Princeton, IL 1936

Sharp, glossy Real Photo Postcard of small town street scene. This picture looks down the tree-lined Elm Place in Princeton, IL, Bureau County. The tree-lined street provided a lush canopy in spring, before the disasterous Dutch Elm disease of the 1950s. Rotary Club sign in lower left. Sharp detail, showing 1930s autos at end of street, seen in the inset below.

Writing on front of card reads: "Elm Place Princeton ILL"

Handwriten note on back from Wilda sent to Marysville, Kansas, and posted from Princeton in 1936 with a one cent Franklin stamp.

Interesting addition to Illinois town photo collection.
