Panoramic view from the summit of Hecker Pass Highway near Watsonville, CA with horseback riders, Santa Cruz County. This would be south county not far from Monterey County line. The view shows the gentle rolling landscape as it flattens out towards the Pacific Ocean, with the ocean seen on the horizon, top left, in this photo. Watsonville today is known for it's strawberry fields, probably not a whole lot different than when this photo was taken. Judging from the card stock and the photographer's mark, we believe this was taken in the 1950's. Three horseback riders are seen under the evergreens in the foreground. Looks like a boy scout with garrison cap, a young lady, and young girl with hat. Writing on card front "VIEW SOUTH FROM THE SUMMIT OF HECKER PASS HIGHWAY NEAR WATSONVILLE, CALIF.", Photographer's mark LAWS-3038. LAWS photos in this area were popular in the 1940s. Post card stock with stampbox Kodak Paper, verifies the printing to be between 1950 to present. No writing on back, and the card is not posted. A nice addition to a landscape collection or Santa Cruz County collection. Condition:
