RPPC WW I Soldier-Identified, Camp Kearney,CA

Real Photo Postcard of a smiling young soldier in uniform saluting the camera. The WW I uniform includes leggings and a campaign hat. He is identified on the back (and in pencil on the bottom front) as Miles Cahow, nephew of Mrs. Van Landingham. He was in Co. L. 159th Infantry, Camp Kearney, Linda Vista, Cal. From the photo it looks like the picture was taken at home maybe during a visit. A handsome young man who looks almost too young to have enlisted.

Card was not posted, and Stamp box on back AZO, 4 arrows up dates the card to between 1904 and 1918.

Condition:
  • Card has several creases, but a clear picture of the young man.
  • Postally unused
  • Corners minimally dog-eared with some softness.
