Sharp, Sepia-tone Real Photo Postcard of the Pacific Gas and Electric building on Market Street, illuminated at night for California's Admission Day Diamond Jubilee celebration, 1925. The DIAMOND JUBILEE 1925 refers to the 75th anniversary of California's admission into the Union as a state, September 9, 1850. The celebration from September 6-12 was marked by numerous festivities and parades. This San Francisco landmark was completed in 1923, and is designated an architectural treasure on the National Register of Historic Places. In the inset below, handwritten note on reverse "Red, green & yellow lights went to make this illumination." Card not posted.
