Sepia-tone Real Photo Postcard looking up Main street in Wakonda, South Dakota, in Clay County about 1910. Both sides of the streets have some very nice vintage autos, and two horse drawn teams are coming up the street. Some of the great detail is visible in the inset below such as the boys on the corner, and the box of cereal in the window showing Kellogs Toasted Corn Flakes. The brand was introduced in 1906, so this is a very early picture of the product.
Wakonda State Bank and Drug Store in this inset.
Farmers in two wagon teams are coming into town.
Note to Bro.-
Caption on the card in the celluloid reads "West Side Main Street Wakonda S.D. 90160." Handwritten note to his brother on reverse tells about this year's duck hunting, and points out that he should know one of the cars on the front. Card not posted. An unusual and interesting addition to your South Dakota historical collection. Condition:
